At DoxMitra ("we," "our," or "us"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our free receipt generator, invoice maker, estimate builder, and other contractor document tools (collectively, the "Services").

We built DoxMitra for plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, handymen, and contractors who need fast, professional documents without sacrificing their privacy. We minimize data collection by design.

  • Device and Usage Data: Browser type, IP address (anonymized where possible), device type, and pages visited
  • Cookies: Essential cookies for tool functionality and optional analytics cookies to improve our free receipt generator
  • Local Storage: If you use our tool without an account, your browser may store templates and business info locally on your device

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to:

  • Generate, format, and export your receipts, invoices, estimates, and other contractor documents
  • Save your templates and business profiles (only if you use local storage)
  • Calculate accurate sales tax, VAT, GST, and HST based on your selected region
  • Improve our document builder and fix bugs

We do not: Sell your data, share your customer lists with third parties, or use your invoice data for advertising targeting.

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Free Tier Users

If you use DoxMitra without creating an account, your documents are generated in real-time and not stored on our servers. Any saved business information or templates are stored in your browser's localStorage. Clearing your browser cache will remove this data.

3.2 PDF Exports

PDFs generated through our tool are created client-side or server-side depending on complexity, then delivered directly to you. We do not retain copies of your PDFs.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the receipt generator to function (e.g., region selection, currency preferences)
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand which trade templates (plumber, electrician, HVAC) are most popular so we can improve the tool
